2017-08-17 Fabulous Food Allergy Friday

Orange and black with white spots butterfly on a bright pink flower.
Want to see a blurry butterfly? One landed on my phone and took a few exciting photos of the concrete.

MaryKate’s off in Vancouver, B.C. for a work weekend learning about Canadian community development. Before heading out, I packed up a bunch of jerky and gluten-free pretzels, but I wish I’d made a few of these easy vegan treats (they are NOT nut-free, but they are all gluten-free). Also, I almost always come home from travels wanting a ton of vegetables, so this roasted rainbow bowl looks amazing.

I (Denise) found this recipe for Liangfen-Chinese Jelly Noodles which seems pretty easy compared to making regular pasta from scratch. I’d have to change the accompaniments a bit, but it might be a fun thing to try.

According to Food & Wine, a new, yet-to-be-published national study shows that some 53 percent of American adults with reported food allergies developed that condition after the age of 18, according to the New York Times.

Have a great weekend, everyone, whether you’re using your passport or not.
