I’m just going to put this here – Arctic stronghold of world’s seeds flooded after permafrost melts. I know, strictly speaking, it’s not food allergy related, but food security becomes an issue when trying to source and grow safe stuff. It’s really concerning.
And in further awful food news, here’s an article on more food fraud, faking organic certification on corn and soybeans imported into the U.S.
And because all of that was really depressing, here’s a cute video from Mochimochi Land. There’s sheep and knitting. How can that be bad?
Also not depressing? The number of dedicated gluten-free restaurants in Portland, Oregon. We’re going in a few weeks, our first weekend trip since we moved to the west coast, and I’m excited to see what I can eat. Got any personal experience or recommendations?
And because this is a road trip, everyone needs some road kale, right? Crispy kale chips, ala 2012. It IS greens season, and our farmer’s market starts next week. Joy!
Have a great week eveyone!
