So there may be a link to the rise in food allergies and a common food additive, which is often not listed on the label of the foods. Something not on the label? As a corn allergic person, I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked. (Hope you have your sarcasm detector on.)

Lisa Klimas has a blog on Mast Cell Disorders, which I follow because there’s a lot of interesting intersections with food allergies, Ehlers-Danlos, and methylation defects (all of which I have). She summarized some scientific articles in post on the Effect of vitamin D on mast cells, which is fairly fascinating, and there’s some evidence that Vitamin D3 has an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect.

It’s been a long and weird and sad week, so I’m just going to share two of our own recipes in honor of someone else. I like to commemorate with food. So, as a weird tribute that I kind of think he’d understand, consider having some Margarita Tropical Fruit Salad (this is not how you do tequila shots) and cake for dinner in honor of Van McLeod.

Hope you have a great weekend everyone!
