Well, you might have noticed we’re back. I’ve (Denise) been killing myself with getting the garden planted, and trying rid myself of demon spawn voles who keep eating my seedlings and trying to kill my apple trees. After this weekend, all plants should be in the ground and I’ll have a short breathing period while things grow.
I found this article from Scientific American on Sexually Transmitted Food Allergens. I’m still sort of dumbfounded by it, and don’t really know what else to say.
I planted a lot of cucumbers this year. There’s only so many pickles you can do, so I’ve started looking around for other recipes. I found this Cucumber Ginger Smoothie. I’d have to sub out a few things, but it’s a start.
Unlike Denise, I don’t have a garden. I found plenty of other things to do in May. I even cleaned out a desk. Importantly, I did sort a lot of recipes out. Oh, and I killed the flowers I bought for the one pot I keep on my porch. So be it.
I’m planning a trip to New York and I’m excited to check out Senza Gluten, which is extraordinarily highly reviewed on Find Me Gluten Free. Their statement on allergens is extremely promising, and I’m going to contact them before going. I am also dying to try the bagels at Jennifer’s Way. What else is an allergy-friendly must eat in NYC?
Have a great weekend everyone!
