Denise and I did some frying last weekend, and it was lovely (we might have a new onion recipe for you soon), but I tried to make a version of the fried won ton noodles that so many Chinese restaurants in America have. It did not work. In searching for recipes (and not finding anything great), I did find this recipe for gluten-free potstickers, which distracted me enough that now I want these instead.
I found this recipe for a vegan mac and cheese sauce that’s almost entirely vegetables. It does rely on nutritional yeast for the cheesy flavor, so it is likely not great for the corn-sensitive, but for anyone with nut or coconut allergies (given that all the other vegan cheez seems to rely on those), this is worth checking out. I want to try it just because the texture in the photos looks great.
For those of you who can due to food allergies, there’s an updated 2015 USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning on the Nation Center for Home Food Preserving website.
I also found this recipe for gluten-free oat wraps that doesn’t look too hard. I’d still like a tortilla like bread product, and looks simple enough.
Have a great weekend everyone.
