LEPUS. This is because Denise mocks my fear of rabbits (it is mockable), but this season brings it out.

For those you who might forget to use gloves when cutting up hot peppers like me (Denise) every now and again, here’s some hints about how to get rid of the burning on your hands once you’ve screwed up from TheKitchn.com. I pinned it so I’d have it the next time I’m a moron. (Denise, that’s only going to help if you can type. Or if Shawn’s home to type for you because you have no fingertips left. MK)

This recipe looks pretty awesome and there’s very little I’d have to change, which seems so rare, that I had to post it. And it’s for crock pots, so what could be easier – Slow Cooker Ropa Vieja With Black Beans and Rice. Sometimes I love to let an appliance do all the work for me.

Denise actually sent me this article about authenticity in food culture, and I thought it raised some interesting points. What do you think? What is “authentic” food in the United States, with our immigrant past and present?

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a hot cross bun, but now I want one. Or, hey, a cinnamon roll. The only thing I’d consider altering is using chia instead of flax for the egg replacer, as I prefer chia’s lack of flavor. That seems Easter-appropriate, right? Or am I making up things that should be traditions?

We had a weird snow blip here in New Hampshire this past week, here’s hoping spring really starts now.  Have a good weekend all!
