I’m (Denise) back from Arizona. Had a great time and I shipped a boatload of chilies home (no room in the luggage, they’re dried, it’s okay), so be prepared for some spicy recipe goodness when I get the package. In the meantime, there’s been some noise about the Sriracha factory possible being shut down because of residential complaints about the smell. I love, love, love Sriracha but can’t eat it anymore because of the corn thing. If it should come to pass that there is a Sriracha shortage, check out this recipe for it. I used rice vinegar and red fresno chilies to make it and it’s yummy.
I was gifted some tomatillos this week, so I’ll be making this Roasted Tomatillo Salsa for a get-together I’m having on Saturday. It looks really good.
Because I may or may not have some leftover wine from the said get-together on Saturday night, and from reviewing them for my wine club, I think I’m going try making my own red wine vinegar for dressings and recipes.
This recipe is for Mary Kate, Fries with Lemon Salt & Rosemary. It’s got potatoes and it sounds stellar. (All fries are good.)
So Angela at oh she glows has a cookbook coming out! That should be worth buying — her recipes are usually worth the effort — they tend to turn out great. I linked this last week, but these three layer candy bars turned out really well (just be sure to make space in your freezer before you start).
Hmmm, squash risotto sounds like an interesting way to use the squash I drew cute kitty faces on …
And just because it’s awesome, here are some Halloween dinosaurs. No, you can’t eat them.
Hope that you all have a great weekend!
