This week finally really felt like fall, or at least, I was really forced to acknowledge it. Since it’s time for all sorts of fall veggies, check out this Roasted Beet and Citrus Salad with Mustard Vinaigrette. I’m not sure why I categorize beets with fall, but I kind of do.
Since it’s fall, I want things with caramel, which is kind of hard with my dairy-free and corn-free reality. But check out this Slow Cooker Vanilla Caramel Pear Butter, which looks really yummy, and is probably much better for you anyway.
And since we need more spicy things to keep us warm, and just because I (Denise) need more spicy things all the time, check out this Aaloo Mattar ( Indian-Style Peas and Potatoes) recipe. I don’t even have to modify anything except the cooking oil, and it looks pretty quick.
If you eat chicken, you should be aware of a recall, the notices of which have been, um, underplayed because all the agencies that warn you about these things are closed. CDC has information here. (Related? Maybe you don’t ever want to eat fast food chicken nuggets. They might be even grosser than you think.)
I’m pretty sure I would mess with this particular recipe, but sweet potato and kale tacos sounds pretty tasty.
And because I like dreaming of taking trips way more than actually taking them, let’s dream about a B&B in Napa Valley that is gluten-free and can cater to food allergies. Thanks to Amanda at Celiac and Allergy Adventures for that little internet trip.
