I adore lentils, and this easy maple baked lentils with sweet potatoes sounds amazing. I think everything is already in the house, too.
GOOD NEWS for next year’s flu vaccine — two new vaccines have been approved that are egg-free! Flublock and Flucelvax are both derived from cultures that are not eggs or egg-based. Given that these cultures apparently grow faster, too, this is good news for non-allergy sufferers, too. It seems to mean that vaccines can be updated quicker to counter new strains of the virus.
Just in case you’re like me (Mary Kate) and tend to rely on the kindness of strangers (okay, fine, the archaeologists I work with) to make me coffee, here’s a refresher when you’re left to your own devices — if your “devices” happen to be a french press coffee maker and some coffee Denise was kind enough to bring over. How to Make Coffee. Read through to the end. It’s worth it.
For those of you that are Les Miserables fans, here’s a food allergy parody, that I thought was pretty hilarious.
Another twist on ranch — I love the idea of celery juice in ranch. I bet that is awesome! (Contains coconut).
Although this would be much better in the summer, and the ice cream used has coconut, which I can’t have, the thought of a Vodka Root Beer Float makes me (Denise) happy.
I also found these lovely Spiced Vegan Buckwheat Pancakes that can be made gluten-free if you use gluten-free certified oats. They sound good. They recipe has nuts but you can leave them out.
