So, things I plan to try this week: crockpot orange chicken and “perfect” broccoli.  I kind of think they will go well together.

I’m guessing that you pack your lunch if you have food allergies — at least with mine, it’s not easy (or cheap) to duck out and grab lunch.  Mostly, I take leftovers.  And I get bored out of my skull with what I eat sometimes.  Here’s 100 vegan packed lunch ideas — not all allergen-free, I’m sure, but definitely things to think about and inspire me.

Chinese Beef Noodle Soup sounds really good.  Like, recovering from The Cold That Tried To Kill Me good.

Here’s a Classic French Creme Brûlée recipe that doesn’t have gluten, dairy, egg, or soy, woo hoo!! Now I just have some free time to try it.  It uses cashews which I can do, and almond milk which I can’t, but I think I can fiddle with the recipe to get something I’ll like.

I also really liked the look of these Frazzled Thyme Onion strings that you can add to sandwiches or salads or on top of a steak.  They look decadent for those of us into that sort of thing.

This article is not about food allergies and it isn’t a recipe.  But for those of us who live on the spicy side of life, there’s a new hottest pepper in the world, the Butch T scorpion pepper clocking in at 1,463,700 Scoville units, and blowing the former champion, the Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia) at 1,001,000 Scoville units, out of the water. Anyone know where I (Denise) can get my hands on some?

Lastly, it’s still chilly enough here (New Hampshire) that I still want yummy warming soup.  This Carrot & Coriander Soup looks like it’d fit the bill.
