Hey, look! It’s Friday again. How’d that happen?
I (Mary Kate) am hoping to go snowshoeing in far northern New Hampshire this weekend, and thinking maybe I should take along some hot chocolate on a stick? I’ve been messing around with recipes for cocoa mix, as I’d love to have one that was much like the packets from childhood — something I could make with just hot water. Haven’t perfected that just yet.
Like all the allergic, I carry snacks with me almost all the time. I’m glad I can have most nuts, as it seems that most snack bars include them. I haven’t checked out Picky Bars yet (haven’t seen them in person yet), but they sound interesting, if not appropriate for anyone with nut allergies.
This tagine (which is a fantastic word that describes both the edible dish and the dish it would traditionally be cooked in. I love words) is actually baked IN a squash. Plus it comes with a lovely story. I think I’d like to try it.
Need gluten-free, egg-free and dairy-free pita bread? This looks like a recipe to try. And hey, no coconut flour, oil or milk. Woo hoo! She also uses her own gluten-free all purpose flour mix, which looks interesting.
This week I noticed that Earth Balance has what I think is new product out, which if it’s good, I didn’t need to know about: Vegan Aged White Cheddar Flavor Puffs. They’re vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and non-GMO. If anyone spots them in New Hampshire, or say within a 50 mile radius of Manchester, please let us (Denise really) know. Or if you try them, just email us (Denise really) and tell us that they are really, really awful even if they’re really good so we (Denise) won’t be tempted.
Okay, for those of you who know me (Denise) in person, you know that I’m a klutz, and that I’ve become a customer of this really cool wine club, that’s not really a club. It’s hard to explain, go read the website here if you’re into wine. But anyway, I found what might be the answer to all my stemware breakage problems (Because seriously, I freaking break Corelle dishes. Do you know how hard it is to break Corelle? And I’ve done it on multiple occasions). It would also just stop the accidental spills. Drumroll…I give you the Vino2go sippy cup for wine. It’s brilliant. Except they don’t have purple, which is just sacrilege really. They need to get on that.
Anyway, hope you all have a great week, if you find cool stuff let us know!
